Meet Theodosia Violet!

Hello again! How have you been, if anyone is still around? At this point I don't think I could ever guarantee a full comeback to this blog (and post as often as I used to!) , but I definitely want to start posting again. I'm still active on my Instagram and take new doll photos as often as I can. So I will probably post the ones I've taken in the last year over the course of the next few weeks (or months, let's be real)!

Also, I cannot believe that this year I will have had this blog for 6 years! That is insane to me, and looking back you can see just how much I've changed. Especially during those years in middle school, phew, I feel bad if you kept up with this blog during that craziness! But now, in my second year of high school, I like to think I'm a bit nearer to my personality when I first started this blog (but hopefully a lot more worldly and less cringe, haha!).

Anyways, onto the subject of this post-- I got another doll! Actually, technically she's not even new anymore since I got her March of 2017, but I never got around to posting about her yet.

She is a custom Kaya doll with watercolor freckles and Lea eyes, who I bought from a fellow AGIGer. I'm never one for customizing but always wanted a custom doll, so I couldn't resist her! She was an impulse buy (at least for me), which I never do, let alone for something expensive. But I am so glad I got her because she is one of my favorites.

Her name comes from a book series I loved as a child, Theodosia Throckmorton, and Violet just because I love flower names. I had originally picked out Theodosia as a name I would use if I got a Kaya doll, and then I found this doll! The original owner even had named her Theodosia, which I never realized until later. I guess it's the perfect name for her then!

These photos were taken in July of 2017, as the photo opportunities were much nicer than they are now. I fear Spring may never come! For now, here are some photos that take me back to that hazy, rose-fragranced period of late July.

"The studio was filled with the rich odour of roses, and when the light summer wind stirred amidst the trees of the garden, there came through the open door the heavy scent of the lilac, or the more delicate perfume of the pink-flowering thorn."
- The Picture of Dorian Gray; 1890

"There's a flame of magic inside every stone & every flower, every bird that sings & every frog that croaks. There's magic in the trees & the hills & the river & the rocks, in the sea & the stars & the wind, a deep, wild magic that's as old as the world itself. It's in you too, my darling girl, and in me, and in every living creature, be it ever so small. Even the dirt I'm sweeping up now is stardust. In fact, all of us are made from the stuff of stars."
- Kate Forsyth; The Puzzle Ring (which I really must read!)

"Magic exists. Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live."
- Nora Roberts

Hope to post more soon! xx

  1. Hi! Yes, still here! Theodosia is beautiful and I love the photos of her. A friend keeps trying to get me on instagram; I'm just not sure. What are your thoughts? I know a friend of ours pins a lot of great AGIG photos.
congratulations on adding Theoosia! Congratulations on 6 years!
Keep up the good work and enjoy life!

    1. Hello, and thank you so much! I find Instagram a very easy way to find doll inspiration every day and to better connect with other doll lovers on a more personal level. Being so close-knit can also create unnecessary drama in the community, but it is usually very fun and welcoming. :)
