Make A Cute DIY Headband!!

Do you love easy, fashionable DIYs? Well, this craft is for you!!

  • You will need-
  • an old tee shirt
  • fabric or felt
  • a bead, gem, or button
  • hot glue
  • your doll

First, cut the hem of the sleeve of an old shirt, cutting it right along the stitches a shown in the picture above.

Next, cut a large circle out of the fabric or felt and keep cutting out smaller circles. Put them in order with the bead, gem, or button. This will be your flower.

Put a dab of glue on each one IN THE MIDDLE. Glue to the headband.  Then you are done!!

Hope you've had a pretty day!!

Elizabeth's (Spring) Fashion Advice- Casual Part 1

Bonjour! Today I(Elizabeth) will show you what is "in" for this spring!

The outfit for today consists of a pink shirt, white dress, and boots, for the perfect spring look! Lets get started!

Note: You won't have all these clothing items, so pick what looks the best to replicate it, or at least the same style.

Tee: This is a light pink 3/4 sleeve tee from American Girl- adds a sophisticated touch, and is not too bright.

Dress: A flowey cotton dress is a main essential in every girl's spring wardrobe! This one is paired with eyelet trim, buttons, and embroidered flowers for the ultimate spring look. (American Girl)

Boots: Knee Highs are so in! These ones are light tan, with the right amount of "pop" in the embroidered butterflies on the side. (American Girl)

I hope you liked my first post and start improving your wardrobe today. Part 2 of casual outfits coming tomorrow!

How To Make A Doll Pencil Case!

Right now I'm really wanting the American Girl Pencil Box that comes with either the book bag or desk set, so I decided to make my own! Lets get started!

Things you will need are- duct tape, ribbon, decorative button or gem, hot glue gun, scissors, and sticky-back Velcro(or something that has a sticky back like a sticker)

I still can't find the ruler, so I guess I would measure using your doll's hand or a doll item such as a pencil.

Fold it in half like this.

Glue the sides together, creating a pocket.

Glue a small piece of ribbon to the inside, on the back part. Stick a velcro piece in the middle like so.

Bring the ribbon down and stick it on the front. This is to close the bag.

Add a gem or button to the Velcro piece, and you are DONE!!

Now fill it with your doll's favorite pencils or supplies!

How To Make A Doll Notebook

First, cut out a template. Depending on which doll you are making this for, the sizes will vary. Hold it up to your doll's hand to help.

Next, trace the template on plain paper 2 times, both right next to each other. Cut the out as a large rectangle, and fold wear the 2 sides meet.

Decorate the front and back however you choose! Here I used sparkly fabric.

Trace the same template on a fold on a stack of lined(or plain for a sketchbook) paper. Staple together, and add glue to the spine, and glue to the inside spine of the cover. And you are done with your very own, one-of-a-kind doll notebook!

I made a sketchbook for Dakota by covering the cover in duct tape, and adding a label.

How To Curl Your Doll's Hair- EASY

For an easy way to curl your doll's hair on the go, all you need is a spray bottle with water in it, bobby pins, a brush, and your doll!

First, take a small section of hair in the front, mist it, and brush it, and twist it to the right(I found this direction was easier for this next step). Next, take the twisted strand, and wrap it around itself. Hold in place with a bobby pin.

Keep repeating with small sections of hair until it looks something like this. She may look like a space alien, but the results are worth it.

I didn't leave my doll's curls in long enough,so I would suggest leaving the buns in overnight, or at least 6 to 8 hours. If you are doing this on American Girl Dolls, I would suggest not leaving them in to long, or they might be permanent. And I would try them on dolls with already curly hair first, because I haven't tried with AG dolls yet.

After the LONG wait, gently pull out the bobby pin, and unravel the bun. Mine was pretty curly, but after a few hours the curls came out. So leave them in longer! I hope this helps.

My Opinions On The New American Girl Outfits!

I was blown away by how cute these new outfits and accessories are!! Here they are:
I really like this! Don't you just LOVE those shoes?? I think these item will be very popular, but I don't know if I will get it yet.

i love all the colors together, it makes everything look more springy!! American Girl must be loving barrettes this year...:) And I love those sandals!! They are sooo adorable!! I think I am going to get this.
This is not really cute. At all. I don't think this is going to be really popular because of the color choices. A no, no.
I LOVE this!! I like everything about it! The colors, the shirt, the shorts, the shoes... A definite yes, yes, YES!!!

This is cute, but too much pink! This really reminds me of a Hello Kitty towel I used to have.

This dress is calling my name!! I just think it looks so sweet, and it is GORGEOUS !!

This little calf is cute, but what do you do with him!?!?!?!? I don't really know about this one...

I like Molly's old pajamas better. But thats just me.

But I like this bed better than her old one!!

I can easily make this, American Girl!!! But its kinda cute...

Easy to make also. This is making me hungry for cake... and water...

You can just buy one of these for $20 dollars at My Doll's Life(doll-clothes.com)... and this is $60. $60!!!!!

This is cute but expensive with it's $100 price tag... and I think Julie's Banana Seat Bike went up to $100 too...

Oh Man. What. Is. The. Point. Of. This pet trailer thing???!!!??? Its kind of a dumb idea, but I got to admit, I would like to see Coconut riding in this, his little head peeking out...cute!!!

On all the blogs I have seen the new AG products on, I haven't seen this. Its supposed to be a doll wall holder, but I don't think I would like my dolls to be on the wall, and people might get the wrong idea...

So which new outfit or accessories do you like the best? Mine has to be Caroline's new outfit, and the one with the green shorts.
