Happy New Year- New Years Eve Party

I have to do this really quick- so I don't have any pictures, but oh well. Make the party as crazy as you want! Such as a mustache party, a pajama party, or a monster party!! Make fun New Year party accessories here. Throw streamers every where, or make doll sized pizzas!! Just be creative in whatever you do!!

                                 Haaapppppeeeee Neeeew Yeeeaaar!!!
(Doesn't it look like shes singing?)

Breakfast Special- Eggs

Do you think your doll needs a good breakfast? Everyone does!! So I created lots of fun breakfast crafts for you! First is eggs. These are super simple and easy to make. All you do is find a quarter, or similar sized coin, and press down hard onto yellow foam, and it will leave an imprint. Cut it out and place on some white foam, and cut squiggly lines all around it. Glue the yellow circle to the middle of the white with any glue, and your done.

Use a toy spatula to scoop, a toy frying pan (I have know idea where mine is), toy salt and pepper shakers, the hot chocolate I made, but leave out the cocoa part, and a small plate.

Coming up tomorrow- bacon and toast!

Happy New Year- Do it Together

This year, how about you and your doll do something good together? Such as go to a baseball or football game, visit relatives, go to the movies, or play a game. These are just the many things you can do with your doll!! You could also help out at a food pantry together, or help out with something in your community. So take some of these things into consideration, and let a few be in you and your doll's resolution list.

Snowy Day!!

I was lucky to catch this very pretty picture of a tree covered in snow!!

                                                               -sorry for the screen-

Happy New Year- Get Writing

Emily is writing her resolution for 2013, with a glamorous new pen! Now you can make one for your doll!!

                                                  You Will Need

2 or 3 colors of thin ribbon
                                                        gems
                                                      scissors
                                                        ruler
                                                     a Sharpie
                                                       straw
                                                   hot glue gun

First, cut the straw 1 1/2 inches, with a slanted edge. Next cut 1 1/2 inch strips of the ribbon, and cut them in half lengthwise. Then, glue them inside and on top of the non slanted side.

If you like, you can add different colors of ribbon to add more color. After you have glued down the ribbon, add a gem to the bottom of each to weigh them down. You can also put one on top. Then, color the tip of the straw with the Sharpie-this is the part you write with. Next, wrap the wrest of the straw with ribbon, and secure with hot glue.

                                                     And You're Done!!

To make a list, just cut a rectangle out of computer paper, and your doll can write away!!

More About the Frosty Party Outfit

Yesterday, Dakota was wearing the Frosty Party Outfit from American Girl. I do not think American Girl sells this outfit anymore, my mom said she found it half-off on Cyber Monday (on the American Girl website). This is a VERY cute outfit, perfect for the holidays, or a recital. It comes with a light blue sweater with sequins and silver thread at the top, a taffeta skirt with ribbon swirls at the bottom, that have almost a frayed look to them, a headband covered in ribbon, with a ribbon bow on one side, and silver-blue ballet flats, with a flower bead on each.
\
                                      the details on the skirt

the beautiful design on the sweater

the shoes (she is standing on a windowsill)

                                           the headband

The only problem I have with this outfit is that the front of the skirt has no elastic, so it is kind of hard to get on. And, the sleeves are hard to get on over the doll's hands, because they are so skinny and tight on the arms. But this outfit is a very great one, and it is one of my favorite outfits. Oh, and I forgot to take a picture of the whole outfit, but I plan to do that later.

Meet Dakota!!

Yesterday, I got an another American Girl doll!! She is a My American Girl, and her name is Dakota Rose. She is very pretty.

                                                  her freckles

I really recommend this doll. She is very cute, but her hair is very frizzy.

I am really  glad I got her.

Getting ready for Christmas #17- Hot Chocolate for Moxie Girlz

Can you believe that there is only one more day of Getting Ready for Christmas craft left? As if the 18 inch doll Hot Chocolate wasn't enough, I  now have hot chocolate for Moxie Girlz!!

                                                              You Will Need:

                                                                hot glue gun
the cap off of an old glue stick or chapstick
                                                       pipe cleaner(aka Fuzzy Stix)
                                                                 cotton ball
                                                                 brown felt

First, cut the pipe cleaner so that if you bend it, your dolls hand can slip in. Keeping it bent, use the hot glue gun and glue the ends of the pipe cleaner to the cap. Then, take a small amount of the cotton ball, and put it in the cap. Cut a circle out of the felt the same size as the cap, and place it on top. You could also make marshmallows by gluing paper or foam to the top.

Lexa is enjoying her hot chocolate!

Styles for Girls- Christmas Nails

I am starting to see red and silver everywhere this Holiday Season. I have especially seen them in magazines such as Country Living and Better Homes and Gardens. So I painted my nails red and silver(truth be told, I do not have green nail polish anyways). I painted them like red, silver, red, silver, and so on.

This is how they turned out(all right I guess?). Do you like them? Do you think they look Christmasy?

Super Cute Winter Outfit!!

I just LOVE how you can just mix and match doll clothing!! Today I did just that and my results were well, AWESOME!!(and cute) Here is how (cute) it looks:

Cute right?(sorry for the poor background) The shirt and pants are from Target(You know how at Target they have Circo brand for little kid clothing? Well that is what this is for some reason.) The vest is from My Doll's Life, and the boots are from Our Generation. I think this is perfect for going outside!!

Here is a close-up of the shirt. Isn't it cute?

Getting Ready for Christmas #16- Going to See Santa Claus!!

Elizabeth is babysitting her neighbors baby, so she thought she would take him to see Santa Claus!

"Santa Claus" is my Bitty Baby Julie, dressed in a Bear Works Santa costume, with a paper beard (I did not glue/tape it there). The baby is a Dora(not funny;) baby that I found. I put a tree behind a small chair, and put a Santa hat on top (of the chair). You can't see in the picture, but Lexa is the elf.
If your doll is babysitting, bring him/her to see Santa Claus today!!

Super Simple Hat for Moxie Girlz

I had the toe of a sock left over from another craft, so I decided to use that and make a super cute, super simple winter hat for my Moxie Girlz Lexa. All you do is cut off 2 1/2 inches from the toe of an old sock down. Then just pull it over a Moxie Girlz's head!!

Lexa is ready to go outside in her new hat!!

Lexa now, is warming herself by the heater, after a long day outside.

                                   colored rubber band

Getting Ready for Christmas #13- Christmas Cards

It is about time my dolls send their Christmas cards, so that is why I have a tutorial for you! (Sorry I have not been posting pictures in a while, but I hope to soon)

Take Pictures

If you like, you can take pictures of your dolls for the cards. You can glue them on(or order cards with the picture on them from a program), or just put them inside. Use The Spicy's Tips for Taking Group Pictures to help.

 Design

Use Christmas colors to decorate your cards. Use patterned paper, stickers, markers, glitter, or whatever else you want. And make sure your doll signs her name inside!!:)

Send

Now its time to send your letters!! Make envelopes by folding paper and gluing/taping closed. Or just send them in your letters. If you're just using mini envelopes, DO NOT send them!! Write the address on, plus a mini sticker as a stamp, and give them to your dolls' friends.

                                                                    Happy Card Making!!

Getting Ready for Christmas #9- Pirate Style!

I have a new doll in my doll family getting ready for Christmas!

Meet Lexa Phoenix! She is a Moxie Girlz doll and is very pretty. Here is a review on her. Moxie Girlz have big heads and are shorter than Barbies. Lexa has long, very silky hair and has a cute outfit. She has holes in her ears, but no earrings. Her dress is not the best quality, and the boots are plastic. The weird thing about Moxie Girlz though, is that they have no feet. This may sound strange, but they don't. They have little knobs at the end of their legs that snap into their shoes. So you probably need to use their shoes for Moxie Girlz. I really recommend this beautiful doll. This is also my first Moxie Girlz doll. I got her because she looked so much like Artemesia from one of my favorite book series "Piratica". So I just thought she could be Lexa's grandmother. I called her middle name Phoenix because Artemesia's first husband's last name was Phoenix.

                                                                     Hope You Enjoyed!

Getting Ready for Christmas #8- Fancy Holiday Hairstyle

This hairstyle looks best on short-haired dolls(like Emily). So enjoy!!

First, mist your dolls hair and brush it. Then, divide the hair into two parts. Tie off one. Gather a small section of hair from the front and tie into a ponytail. Then gather the rest of the hair and twist, and then bring it up to her head and pin with a bobby pin/butterfly clip. It should look like this:

Do the same to the other side, leaving the front ponytails alone. Then, twist or braid the two ponytails together, and bring to one side. Clip with a small butterfly clip.

                                                                    And you're done!

Here are some different picture of the hairstyles at different angles:

from the front

from the back

Happy Hairstyling!!

Getting Ready For Christmas #5- Nativity Star

This craft is cute AND it uses some of the leftover sticks from yesterdays post!

You will need:

4 tooth picks, chop sticks, or the leftover sticks from yesterday
Sticky Tack or tape

Get a small piece of the Sticky Tack/tape, and roll into a longish roll, or in a doughnut,
and place it on one of the sticks, in the middle. Then, place that on the middle of the second one.  It should  look like the picture above.
